Connect Datadog

Updated September 23, 2026 · 1 min read

Connect your own Datadog org so workers can use real product events — RUM unique users or sessions — as a batch input.

Add your credentials

  1. In Datadog, create an API key and an application key with rum_apps_read permission.
  2. In Zentesimal, go to Integrations → Datadog and choose the site that matches your Datadog login (for example datadoghq.com or datadoghq.eu).
  3. Paste both keys and use Test connection to confirm Zentesimal can list your RUM applications.
  4. Save.

See it working

After saving, See some event samples opens a modal of real RUM action names from the last 24 hours — the same list a worker's See suggestions uses.

FAQ

What permissions does the application key need?

rum_apps_read, so Zentesimal can list your RUM applications and query events.

What if Test connection fails?

A 401 means the site, API key, or application key is wrong; a 403 means the application key is missing RUM permissions.

Where do I use this once it's connected?

On a worker's Scheduled Trigger or Run Worker, set Input to Datadog RUM to map RUM users or events into a batch.

Can I reconnect after a key is revoked?

Yes — update the keys and save again; Zentesimal clears the invalid-key flag on a successful reconnect.
