Reduce churn with Claude: the analysis and experiment loop
Find what your churn is made of, spot the signals that predict it, and test an intervention against what would happen anyway—then feed the result into the next round.
Reducing churn with Claude works as a loop: look back at cancelled accounts, measure each signal’s churn risk when nobody acts, write a hypothesis with a because, and test it against a control group. The Skill does that analysis with you. Zentesimal Workers run the winning outreach across the base.
When to use this Skill
- You have a churn rate and no proof which signals are worth acting on.
- You can export cancellations from billing and events from product analytics, joined by account ID.
- You want a baseline before you credit a newsletter, health score, or save play.
How to run it in Claude or ChatGPT
- 1
Download the Skill
Save SKILL.md from this page. Keep account IDs in your exports; leave customer names out.
- 2
Add it to Claude or ChatGPT
In Claude, add it as a project skill or attach the file. In ChatGPT, add it to a Project or a custom GPT.
- 3
Give it two exports
Cancellations from billing and product (or support) events, joined by account ID. Ask it to run the backward look, then the forward look.
- 4
Automate the play that wins
When a signal beats the control group, run it on every matching account with Zentesimal Workers—copilot for named CSMs, autonomous in the long tail.
What the Skill does
01
Look back: share of churn
For accounts that already cancelled, count which signals showed up first. That is each signal’s share of past churn—not yet a reason to act.
02
Look forward: churn risk
Of accounts showing the signal today, how many still cancel if nobody acts? That number is the baseline every experiment is measured against.
03
Write a hypothesis with a because
Because [what the analysis showed], if we [intervention], then [result] moves from [baseline] to [target]. The because tells you what to build.
04
Test against a control group
Hold out 10–20% of eligible accounts, agree scale / adjust / stop rules before you start, and wait for a check period taken from your own cancellation curve.
05
Run the winner with Zentesimal
Workers watch the signal, personalize outreach, and keep a standing control group. Your team sets the hypothesis and reads the results.
