Let a worker browse a public URL

Updated September 21, 2026 · 1 min read

Add the browse-URL action when a worker needs to read a public page that isn't in your Knowledge base.

Add the action

  1. Open a worker's Knowledge tab, click the + next to Actions, search for browse, and pick Browse URL.
Actions picker with Browse URL found by search.

How it works

  1. When the model calls it, the worker opens the page in a sandboxed browser and reads back its text — no domain allowlist to configure.

FAQ

Does the page need to be in Knowledge first?

No. That's the point — this action reads a public page on the fly instead of relying on a connected Knowledge source.

What kind of pages can it read?

Any public http or https page. It's a beta capability, so don't rely on it for anything business-critical yet.

Is this action mandatory or optional?

Optional only. It becomes a tool the model can choose to call — it never runs automatically like a mandatory action.
